Witton return to league action on Tuesday night when they welcome Hednesford Town to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The game is Albion’s first outing since their Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy defeat at Macclesfield FC and the first since caretaker manager Ben Harrison was placed in full-time charge of the team.

It’s also the first home game since the defeat to Bootle on 21st September so they will be looking to get back to playing and hopefully, picking up three very important points.

The Pitmen sit in twelfth place in the table and have won two out of three games on the road so far, their only defeat coming at Mossley in September.

Witton have slipped perilously close to the relegation zone recently but partly because they haven’t played many league games, so will be looking to pull themselves out of danger.

The management team have been active in the last few days bringing in goalkeeper Ellis Allen from Alsager Town following the departure of Danny Roberts.

The Pitmen have strengthened this season particularly in the attacking department with the signings of Rob Stevenson and Daniel Trickett-Smith from last season’s champions Leek Town.

Witton are still missing the likes of Joel Bembo Leta and Harry Brazel, but other players are making a case for themselves with loan signing Reece Daly’s form being particularly impressive in recent weeks.

Another difficult game is to be expected but Witton will be looking to put in a performance to secure the points.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.
