Sunday could be a very momentous day for Witton Albion’s Women’s team as they edge ever nearer the Cheshire Women’s Youth League Championship West title.
Still unbeaten and with one game to play after this weekend, Witton have grown in stature in their first season as a squad.
The team that Dean Meadows, Mike Smith and the staff have assembled have played with freedom and a passion for the game and have worn the club’s colours with pride.
Although it is all about the squad, the goalscoring exploits of strikers Aimee Gibson and Jennifer Thompson have played a major part in the team’s success, scoring 44 goals between them.
Whilst a draw will be enough to seal the championship, Witton will be looking to complete the double over their opponents, following their 4-1 success at Helsby High School earlier in the season.
Frodsham JFC will be looking to impose themselves on the game so Witton will need to continue their work rate and show the same determination in order to get the right result.
Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 2pm.
