Right sided Defender born 02/11/1995 in Warrington who was signed in late November from Warrington Rylands for whom he made 50 appearances (23 starts) and scored 5 times since joining them at the start of last season.

James commenced his career with Crewe Alexandra Youth signing a professional contract with the club in May 2014 and making his Football League debut on 9 August 2014 at Fleetwood Town. After making 18 appearances (14 starts) he went on loan to Nantwich Town playing 11 times at the end of the 15/16 campaign.

In September 2016 he signed for Curzon Ashton. On 30 October 2018, he suffered a broken leg and missed almost a year. Before his return to Curzon Ashton first team action, he had loan spells with Abbey Hey and Mossley to help with his recovery.

After spending four years at Curzon (101 appearances, 5 goals), he signed for Warrington Town, making 47 appearances before joining Ashton United and played 27 times (18 starts) in the 2022–23 season.
