A few words on the game – 15 seconds in and the ball broke well for Witton and Freddie moved the ball onto Joe Duckworth in space who took a shot on the half volley and it gave us an early lead.

The Astro pitch playing quite well compared to others both sides moved the ball well however Chasetown grabbed the equalise with a sharp close range finish from a left wing cross.
Undeterred Witton played well and a lovely cross from Bairstow found Freddie Garbutt to rise above the defence and finish of with a good header.
Closely contested then until 39 minutes when Bairstow broke forward and was clipped from behind on the edge of the penalty area deemed by the ref to be inside Penalty to Witton, we expected Edward’s to step up but instead Freddie took the ball and placed it into the top right corner 3-1 to Witton.
The second half proved more difficult as Chaseton chased the game and created several chances as Witton seemed to tire and We really needed fresh legs but not given then Chasetown got a second following good work and it reallly looked like they would equalise and to be honest they missed several good chances and had a penalty shout turned down.

We then started to bring subs on not always the way fans wanted it ! However we hung on until Chasetown put everyone up for a corner for the ball to break to Sub Christie Edwards who beat his man and ran down the wing cutting past the closing defender to put it into the net with the Keeper not getting back 4-2 to Witton! A great if not flattering win, yet again Witton confuse the table positions.
My Mom was Cam Terry with great hands today closely followed by Bairstow. UTA
