Witton Albion Football Club Announces Launch of New Under-21s Team
Witton Albion Football Club is delighted to announce the introduction of a new Under-21s team into the club’s football structure, marking a significant step forward in the continued development of its player pathway.
The formation of the U21s side is designed to bridge the gap between the club’s successful Under-18s programme and the first team, providing a clear and progressive route for young players to transition into senior football.
This initiative reinforces the club’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and building for long-term success.
Newly appointed Head of Youth Development, Chris Appleton, will oversee the integration and progression of players within this enhanced pathway. His role will be pivotal in ensuring continuity across all age groups and maintaining the high standards set within the academy structure.
The club has also appointed Steve Woods as Head Coach of the Under-21s team. Bringing valuable experience and leadership, Woods will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the squad, working closely with both the academy and first-team staff.
This latest addition highlights the club’s ongoing investment in youth development and its ambition to create a sustainable future through its academy system.
Further details regarding fixtures, squad announcements, and coaching staff will be shared in due course.
