Pre-Match Update with Ben

Q – How has the preparation gone this week?

BH – The lads worked hard on Tuesday and we got a lot of football in Thursday to prepare for Linnets.

Q –  Are there any injury concerns or players who might not be available?

BH – We have a lot of bodies coming back from long spells out so we are nursing them back with a bit of work. On the injury front, Geff is obviously a long term case. Steeley we are hoping to see in the next couple of weeks.

Q – What sort of game are you expecting Linnets?

BH – Linnets are always a difficult opponent (even though our recent record against them is very good). They have a lot of quality going forward and score plenty of goals. We are expecting an attacking game with two teams trying to play with high energy on the front foot.

Q – Results in October have been up and down, 1 draw, 2 wins and 2 recent losses. What needs to change to make us more consistent?

BH – I think we have been fairly consistent. We went 5 unbeaten with 4 wins at the back end of September/start of October. The last two performances have been below par and got what we deserved out of them. Not to make excuses but the lads we had missing (especially at Chasetown) then we knew it was going to be difficult. We have had lads play with knocks when ideally they would have been rested. We are expecting a much stronger all round performance with the squad we have available today.

Q – What would make you walk away from the match thinking, “That was exactly the performance I wanted”?

BH – High energy, brave in and out of possession and looking a goal threat. But I would swap all that for 3 points!
